"My love for horses started when I was just three years old, and it only deepened as I grew. My Grandpa Fowler—one of the only people on my mom’s side who shared my passion for horses—gave me my very first horse, Mini. She was an old soul and a treasure, sparking the bond I’ve always felt with these incredible animals.
 

At 14, I moved in with my aunt, who gifted me my first Arabian horse, Ashley. Ashley became my heart horse, and I have countless cherished memories of my time with her, the other horses, and my family at the farm.

When Mike and I got married in 2014, he surprised me with an incredible gift: an ex-racehorse named Gracie. Chief is still with us today, alongside Marco, one of my Arabians who came into our marriage as part of the family. We also had Sammy, another beloved Arabian, who passed away in 2023.
 

Our rescue journey began unexpectedly during a trip to a sale barn in Worthington, Indiana. We went looking for supplies but found ourselves heartbroken by the number of starving and abused horses we saw there. We couldn’t just walk away, so we brought a few home to nurse them back to health and find them loving homes. That small act of compassion grew into something much bigger.
 

Today, M & M Horse Rescue has saved 25 horses and counting. Each one has a story of resilience, hope, and second chances. What started as a simple desire to help has become a mission we’re deeply passionate about—rescuing horses in need and giving them the safe, happy lives they deserve."
