Adoption Process

At M & M Horse Rescue, we aim to make the adoption process straightforward while ensuring every horse is placed in a safe and loving home. Our commitment doesn’t end at adoption—any horse adopted from us is always welcome to return, and adopters can explore adopting another horse if needed.

Contact Michelle Terrell at 812-585-2445 to discuss currently available horses.

How to Qualify:

  1. Provide a Safe Home:

    • You must have a safe facility for the horse to live in, including appropriate shelter (natural or man-made).

  2. Matching Process:

    • M & M Horse Rescue, Inc. President, Michelle Terrell, will work with you to find the best match for your needs and the horse’s well-being.

    • If, at any point, we determine that a horse is not the right match, we may deny the adoption to ensure the best outcome for all.

  3. Adoption Agreement:

    • Once a suitable match is found, you’ll complete the adoption paperwork.

    • If, at any time in the future, you can no longer care for the horse, it must be returned to us. There is no cost for rehoming, aside from transportation expenses.

  4. Transportation:

    • If you cannot transport your adopted horse, we can arrange transportation for an additional cost. Please call Michelle Terrell at 812-585-2445 to discuss.

  5. Ongoing Support:

    • We are always here to support you and your adopted horse. If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Transforming Lives, One Horse at a Time

At M & M Horse Rescue, every horse has a story—some arrive malnourished, others carry emotional scars from years of neglect or abuse, and many simply need a second chance. Regardless of their past, we are committed to providing each horse with the care, love, and patience they need to heal and thrive. Through proper nutrition, medical attention, and a safe, nurturing environment, these horses experience incredible transformations. Their journeys from heartbreak to hope are a testament to resilience and the power of compassion.
